- Performed optimization methods and convergence analysis to design new algorithms for applications in machine learning, deep learning, distributed/federated learning.
- Applied Top-k Sparsification and Low-bit Quantization for data compression, saved memory usage by 77% for large-batch deep training of neural networks.
- Ran numercial experiments based on machine learning models (e.g. LeNet5, FCNNs, Faster-RCNN, YOLO) to tackle image classification and object detection problems, with implementation on Fashion-MNIST, Cifar10, ImageNet, COCO datasets.

- Fabricated and characterized devices by cleanroom techinuqes like E-beam lithography, LP-CVD, AFM, SEM.
- Investigated strong correlated systems and excitonic states in low dimensional materials like WSe2, to understand electron-electron and electron-phonon interaction for future valleytronics, quantum computing, laser, energy harvesting and photon detection applications.
- Designed optical imaging system and tested the self fabricated nanoscale devices to study the optical and electrical properties of two-dimensional layered semiconductors.
- Processed large-scale data sets, implemented simulation using Monte Carol, DFT, FDTD, COMSOL.
